DMZ Dustoff finally got rescued from MY Father's-in-law Dresser. After 37 days in one site, the rotors are turning and we are again up and away. Let's hope it may land near one of our members. It would be great if one us could have the opportunity to move it from one cache to another. I'll keep you posted on where it may land next.
Before I could update you on DMZ Dustoff Geocoin landing near Augusta, GA, it made a quick takeoff and is on it's way to another location. It is being carried by AgurClan, who say's his intentions is to move DMZ Dustoff to the Dayton, OH area. I'll update you when and where it lands. AgurClan says, "Father flew Huey's in VN in 1969. So let's get this baby airborne and log some miles! Headed into Dayton.""
Also received an email from the person who moved it to Augusta. It reads, "Moving DMZ Dustoff is certainly the least my family can do to show our appreciation for our heroes! We hope DMZ Dustoff wins! I'll be rooting for him!"
DMZ Dustoff is certainly being very well received and getting good recognition.

DMZ DUSTOFF GEOCOIN landed near Fulton, MO on July 6, 08 at Arthur & Trillian's Coin and Bug Base Station http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=e376944e-0019-4f63-8716-f1122b43ba06 . This is cache number GC18TKV . This makes the 5th landing and for a total 955.3 miles traveled. This should raise our position in the rankings. We have really had a good run over the last 2 weeks, let's hope it continues. When DMZ DUSTOFF takes off, I'll be back.
Finally on 8/26/08, DMZ DUSTOFF Geocoin was able to take off from the cache in Fulton, MO and take a short flight north to Columbia, MO at the "Slippery Rock" Cache. Hopefully, this can get DMZ moving again. You can visit the site at http://www.geocaching.com/seek.....0e45. DMZ has now traveled 977 miles, 6 caches and 4 states (AL,GA,OH MO). Don't forget that if DMZ is near you, try to visit the cache and take a picture of you and DMZ, then post it to the site. Will be back when DMZ lift's off from Slipper Rock. I am pleased that we have had over 200 views on this race. I am glad there is interest and that makes this more fun to track.
Wow, I never thought DMZ Dustoff would ever get out of the Slippery Rock cache. Talk about an extended stay!! Well, that is over and DMZ Dustoff took off on the 18th of October for places unknown. It is in 63rd place in the GeoRace. Hopefully, it can get an extended flight this time. Be back when DMZ has landed.
It has been awhile since I have given an update on the DMZ Dustoff Geocoin. So, here it is. It left Slippery Rock, MO and landed at Let's Play Ball in Pleasanton, MO for a 105 mile flight. It then, October 26th, very quickly left to go to HomeMade Ridge in Greenridge, MO for a 47 mile flight. It landed on Nov, 1st and then it got stuck and didn't move until the 10th of Jan. It is now in flight, where DMZ lands is still unknown. The last person that retrieved DMZ left a photo, which can be seen at http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=1548867 . DMZ's Status in the Premier Geocoin Race is in 69th place of 117 for mileage with 1129.1 miles and 53rd place of 117 for # of caches with 8. Currently since DMZ is on the move, it will move up when it finally lands. I'll keep you all posted as when DMZ lands.
On Saturday, 1/30/09, DMZ Dustoff landed at the "Odd Rock" cache near Sedalia, MO. This seems like an active cache so hopefully DMZ Dustoff will take off fairly soon. It's last flight was only a 10.3 mile trip. Despite this DMZ Dustoff Geocoin did rise in it's standing in the race to 44th in number of caches, but slipped to 70th in mileage . You can read a description of the cache it is at http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=1548867 . I'll post an update when Dmz Dustoff takes off again.
